Immunization Requirements for 窪蹋勛圖厙 Students

Required Immunizations | Exemptions | Recommended Immunizations

All students are required to comply with the immunization laws established by New York State and 窪蹋勛圖厙.

For detailed information on timing and documentation requirements, refer to the Incoming Students section.

REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS:
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
New York State Public Law 2651 requires all students enrolled at least half-time (six credits), born on or after January 1, 1957, to provide documentation of vaccination or immunity (titers) for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, and Rubella (German Measles).
  • Meningitis
窪蹋勛圖厙 requires students to be vaccinated with a MenACWY vaccine (Menactra, Menveo, or MenQuadfi) within the past 5 years.
Note: Meningitis B does not fulfill this requirement.
  • Tetanus
Students must provide documentation of a TD (Tetanus-Diphtheria) or Tdap (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) booster within the past 10 years.

Effective May 12, 2023, COVID-19 vaccines are no longer a requirement.

For additional information on individual vaccines, visit the CDC website.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing:

While not an immunization, tuberculosis (TB) testing may be required. Based on your responses to the Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire (available on your Health Services portal), a Health Services nurse may contact you to complete TB testing and documentation.

EXEMPTIONS:

Students may be exempted from vaccination based on religious beliefs or medical concerns.

  • Religious Exemption Policy
Please note that a 2019 law removing non-medical exemptions from school vaccination requirements for children does not apply in the college setting.
  • Medical Exemption Policy and Requirements
Documentation for medical exemptions should be submitted via the Health Services Portal and will be reviewed by a medical provider. Students will be updated by Health Services regarding approval, denial, or requests for additional documentation.
RECOMMENDED IMMUNIZATIONS:

The following vaccinations are recommended but not required for attendance. However, they may be required in certain work settings (e.g., laboratories, healthcare environments) or for study abroad programs:

  • COVID-19 (recommended)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus) - Gardasil
  • Meningitis B (Bexsero & Trumenba) for individuals with certain medical conditions or in the event of an outbreak
  • Polio (see additional information below)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

Required immunizations and tuberculosis testing are available through Health Services.
