Carolyn Forché is one of the country’s leading writers and human rights activists. Forché's latest, widely discussed book is “What You Have Heard is True,” a memoir of her human rights work in Latin America. Her books of poems include “The Country Between Us,” “The Angel of History,” and “Blue Hour,” among other titles. She has won dozens of awards, including the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, The Lannan Award, The Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the Morris Hiroshima Foundation Award for Peace Activism.
