Field Work Information
The Council on Social Work Education mandates that students complete a minimum of 400 hours in the field practicum. Peter McCarthy ACSW the coordinator of field education, guides every senior social work major through the field placement sequence. During the fall of their senior year, social work majors begin to explore prospective agency sites and interview with their potential field supervisors. During the spring semester of their senior year, students work an average of 30–32 hours per week in an approved human services agency for a total of 425–450 hours.
