History

Wilmarth Hall was built in the 1960s and is named after the a trustee of the college, Martin L. C. Wilmarth, a Glens Falls merchant whose stationary indicates that his business included "furniture and undertaking." Wilmarth joined the trustees in 1917, where his role on the building and grounds committee played a crucial role in advancing the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Arts into a comprehensive liberal arts college. On his retirement from the board in 1938, he was lauded: "ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø never had a better friend than Mr. Wilmarth, nor a more efficient trustee."

Welcome to South Quad! Four identical residence halls in South Campus, home to a large majority of First Year and Sophomore Students. Our residence halls contain a mix of triple, double, and single rooms. Each floor has great common room spaces where you might find students studying, attending an RA event, or just hanging out! Need a quiet place to do homework? Pop into the study room on your floor! With such close proximity to the Dining Hall and Case Center, what’s not to love?
