Who does OSDI serve?

OSDI aims to make ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø a more socially just campus for all students, with a focus on providing support, advocacy, and resources for marginalized students on campus. When we say "marginalized," we mean students with social identities that are given less power in our current society. For example, this could mean students of color, trans students, disabled students, fat* students, poor/working-class students, queer students, students who practice non-Christian religions, undocumented students, etc. and students with any combination of these / other identities.

* At OSDI, we follow the lead of  and use the word "fat" as a re-claimed, empowering term that can be a central part of an individual's identity and simply describes the size of a person's body without a value judgement.

 
Where can I find detailed information on OSDI programs and workshops?

Each semester OSDI and its affiliate clubs and organizations offer a variety of events, programs, and workshops. Students are encouraged to sign up for the OSDI newsletter and check out the OSDI website, , and for more information.

 

I'm having a hard time making friends and feeling connected to campus. what can i do?

There are lots of on-campus resources to help you feel connected and supported! Below are some of the options and are good places to start!

  • Email Hillary Montague-Asp, Director of Student Diversity and Inclusion, to set up a time to chat!
  • Contact Parker Diggory, Director of Religious and Spiritual Life, to find a time to connect!
  • Call or walk-in to the Counseling Center to schedule a time to talk with someone!
  • Check out to get an idea of all of the clubs available to you!

 

What resources are available if I have experienced a race, culture, sexuality, gender, or safety-related bias incident or hate crime on campus?

Students who have experienced such incidents on campus can fill out the form to report a bias incident. You can also find resources on the protocol once an incident has been reported and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's definition of bias at the Bias Response Group website. The offices and departments below can also assist you, depending on where the incident happened or if you need additional support.
