Professor Emeritus

Bill Fox enjoyed teaching sociology at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for 35 years, with a few semesters in London. His teaching and research ranged widely from urbanism to folklore to inequality. Even a January course on Dylan. And too, Bill helped develop and offer ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s first-year Human Experience course. But Bill’s primary teaching interests were research methods and statistics. He introduced computers early on and published a data-based statistics textbook. Along the way, Bill especially enjoyed overseeing student Fulbright applications. Dutifully serving as department chair and on numerous campus-wide committees, Bill received an inaugural President’s Award for Leadership and Service.
