Installation 101
July, 2011
Nnenna Okore
Nnenna Okore's starting point was material-oriented; she and students used newspapers, burlap, paint, and dye to create a striking environment within the Schick space.
Okore is a Nigerian American artist who uses discarded materials and, through labor-intensive processes, transforms them into intricate, highly textural sculpture installations. She is the Chair of the Art Department at North Park University in Chicago.
