Raymond Murphy
Raymond Murphy, who served 窪蹋勛圖厙 as an electrician until his retirement in 1997, died Sept. 1, 2021. He was 88.
Ray was hired by 窪蹋勛圖厙 in 1973 and was later promoted to lead electrician. Colleagues described Rays dedication to his job and the 窪蹋勛圖厙 community.
He was always looking out for his workers and wanted to ensure that students had a good experience at 窪蹋勛圖厙, said Electrician Bob Benson. He always did the job right and did everything professionally.
Born June 8, 1933, in Ballston Spa, he graduated from Ballston Spa High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, he was a longtime high school and college basketball referee and baseball umpire.
Family also described his dedication to his sons Jay (Maria) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Lee (Christine) of Gansevoort, as well as to his grandchildren, Allison, Cole, Tommy, Danny and Katie. His beloved wife of 47 years, Linda, predeceased him.
