Bernadine Clark
Bernadine Clark, who served the Sociology Department for two decades, died Monday, March 11, 2019. She was 91.
Bernadine joined the Sociology Department as a secretary in 1968 and helped the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Sociology transition into the computer age. She retired in 1988.
“Mrs. C. was a legendary department secretary. She was thoughtful and professional, and she knew the College so well,” said Bill Fox, professor emeritus of sociology. “She was always a pleasure to work with.”
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Clement; daughter, Jennifer (Peter) Clark, administrative assistant in the Office of Alumni Relations and College Events; daughter, Rosemary (Peter) Gold; son, Jim (Donna) Clark; grandchildren, Rebecca Gold, Erin (Dan) Diehl and Lauren (Rian) Macdonald; great-grandchildren, Tristin and Savannah Macdonald; Bernadine’s sister, Carmel-Ann (Raymond) Lariviere; and sisters-in-law, Rose Sansiveri and Roberta Sansiveri.
