Faculty-Staff Achievements
Catherine J. Golden, professor of English, has published a chapter entitled "Placing ‘Persuasion’" in
the “Approaches to Teaching Austen's ‘Persuasion’” published by the Modern Language
Association of America (MLA) in June and edited by Marcia Folsom and John Wiltshire.
The chapter includes quotations from ϳԹ students who participated in ϳԹ
travel seminars to Bath, U.K., and those who piloted a virtual tour to Bath on Google
Earth that Golden designed with the help of Aaron Kendall of Learning Experience Design
and Digital Scholarship Support (LEDS).
Martha O’Leary, director of brand communications and marketing, participated in a recent virtual
career panel with students at the Northwood School in Lake Placid. O’Leary, who is
a graduate of the school, spoke about her career path and other opportunities in marketing
and communications.
Oscar A. Pérez, assistant professor of Spanish, participated in the ,” discussing how Mexican newspapers and a novel represented the 1918 and 2009 influenza pandemics. The episode was recorded in English to reach a wider audience.
