Faculty-Staff Achievements
Paul Arciero, professor of health and human physiological sciences, co-authored a study with Carmen
Ramos '15 and Kelvin Tavarez '15, “.” The study showed for the first time that eating a “nutritionally engineered” protein
shake and bar meal replacement for breakfast burned significantly more calories than
a whole food bowl of cereal of equal calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates.
Amy Frappier, associate professor of geosciences, co-authored a study, "," in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta (2020).
Juan Navea, associate professor and associate chair of chemistry, received a National Science
Foundation grant for $243,984 for a project titled “Photochemical and OH-initiated
Processing of Aerosol Organic Coatings,” which aims to study the fate of atmospheric
particles. The grant will support research conducted with ϳԹ students for the
next three years.
Casey Schofield, associate professor of psychology, co-authored an article, "," in the Journal of Anxiety Disorders.
Jess Sullivan, associate professor of psychology, co-authored a study, “” in which she and her colleagues asked about 4- and 5-year-old children's developing beliefs about infinity. The work was supported by a National Science Foundation grant awarded to Sullivan and is part of her class Psychology of Infinity.
