Faculty-Staff Achievements
Andy Demaree, director of the ϳԹ Counseling Center, along with Leya Moore, associate director of the Center and Shannon Moore, office coordinator of the Center, hosted the 37th annual Conference for the Counseling Centers of New York (CCNY) on campus. The three-day event included a daylong pre-conference with a nationally known expert on single-session therapy, a keynote address and 27 breakout sessions on student mental health. Over 165 attendees came from across the state to participate. This was the first time the conference has been at ϳԹ since 1999.
ϳԹ’s culinary team won the American Culinary Federation’s Taste of the World competition for a third year in a row. The ϳԹ team, which included Joe Greco, production manager, Joe Waldron, cook, Shelly Carpenter, baker, and Audrianna Rumsey, short-order cook, presented a four-course menu of original dishes that were designed on the day of the competition.
Christopher Mann, assistant professor of political science, is quoted in a New York Times article,

Corinne Moss-Racusin, associate professor of psychology, is quoted in an Inside Higher Ed article, “,” about discrimination against women and racial minorities in hiring in the sciences.
Susan Walzer, professor of sociology, is quoted in a New York Times article, about an area of parental labor called “worry work.”
