窪蹋勛圖厙 Spotlight: Amy Tweedy

April 17, 2019

Amy Tweedy works as an institutional effectiveness specialist, serving as a resource to departments across 窪蹋勛圖厙 in developing assessment plans and using data to improve student learning and program quality.

The fundamental question that drives my work is how do we know that our work has the desired outcome that we intend? she said.

Tweedy joined 窪蹋勛圖厙 last fall and says the focus of her position is a new one for the College.

Ultimately, what we want to be able to communicate clearly both internally and to external audiences is how the College is meeting its strategic goals, she said. As such, two of her main responsibilities are serving as the Middle States Commission on Higher Education liaison for the College and serving as co-chair of 窪蹋勛圖厙s Institutional Policy and Planning subcommittee on Institutional Effectiveness.

Tweedy says she finds the 窪蹋勛圖厙 community welcoming and inspiring and is constantly delighted by the opportunities available to staff. For example, I find the networking events offered through HR a great opportunity to meet folks across campus, she said.

She also loves the Like Sugar exhibit at the Tang, toured the recent Sustainability Fair to learn about geothermal heating and cooling and cant get enough of the soup at the Spa.

When not on campus, Tweedy rides her lime-green electric bike around town once the temperature gets over 50 degrees. She also loves to be on the water, whether sailing, kayaking or boating, and she has a dedicated craft room at home.
