窪蹋勛圖厙 Spotlight: Jane Kjaer
Jane Kjaer works as a curator in the Special Collections and Rare Books Department of the Scribner Library.
Kjaer has been at 窪蹋勛圖厙 for eleven years. Before 窪蹋勛圖厙, she worked as a circulation coordinator in the library at the College of Saint Rose. Kjaer is also a trained textile conservator and a certified high school teacher in her home country, Denmark.
Kjaer said, When a position opened up in 窪蹋勛圖厙s library, it was a no-brainer to apply and I have never regretted it. 窪蹋勛圖厙 is a vibrant campus. I love what I do and I get to meet interesting people while pursuing some of my own interests.
On what she enjoys most, Kjaer said, I love working with the students when they come here for classes and enjoy watching them discover and get excited about the resources we have.
There is great satisfaction in being able to find often elusive answers, said Kjaer. And most importantly, I am constantly learning.
When it comes to 窪蹋勛圖厙 traditions, Kjaer enjoys Founders Day since shes such a fan of Lucy 窪蹋勛圖厙 Scribner.
When not at 窪蹋勛圖厙, Kjaer can be found with her two dogs in the natural habitats of the Adirondacks, New Hampshire and Maine doing everything from backpacking to white water rafting.
