Penny Howell Jolly, professor of art history, was invited by the Warburg Institute in London, UK, to offer the keynote lecture on November 23 for a conference on the body politics of Mary Magdalene. Titled "," it considered the role of hair and dress in the early fourteenth-century frescoes in the church.

Catherine White Berheide, professor of sociology, was interviewed for a Jan. 10 Times Union story titled "." Berheide teaches courses including "Quantifying Women," "Women in Modern Society," "Women in Global Economy," "Work, Family, and Organizations," "Introduction to Race, Class, and Gender" and "Sociology of Work and Occupations."
