Cecilia Aldarondo
Cecilia Aldarondo, assistant professor of English, was named one of six for 2017. The Sundance Institute created the fellowships to support young filmmakers with a $10,000 grant and a mentorship by an industry leader. Aldarondo's film was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and will be screened at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø on Nov. 29. The film is slated for national broadcast on the next year.
Amber Wiley
Amber Wiley, assistant professor of American Studies, wrote a chapter titled "A Modern-Day WPA"
in (University of Massachusetts Press, 2016). Wiley participated in a , and , on November 14.
Publications and Exhibitions
Denise Warner Limoli, associate professor of dance, and Tom Denny, professor emeritus of music, contributed essays to SPAC50, a history of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. According to a , the limited edition, 350-page book will be available for purchase beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs. It is also available from the .
Jay Rogoff
Jay Rogoff, lecturer in English, has published a historical novel, (LSU Press, 2016). According to the publisher, the book "reimagines 'the terrible
year' when the Franco-Prussian War shook the City of Lights ... Using multiple voices
and poetic forms, Rogoff skillfully recreates the wonder and horror of these months
of siege through the eyes of both ordinary and famous Parisians."
