Art for education
High on China’s Tibetan plateau, the Kuthor School orphanage is so remote (four days from the nearest airport) that its students lack clean water and electricity. Kaarina MacKenzie '13, who co-founded it in 2008, has been selling her photography and artwork to benefit the school. With her brother, she recently raised enough money to provide a hydroelectric system, stoves, a kitchen, and classroom items. .
