A Big Green Scream for 黑料吃瓜网, Stewart鈥檚 ice cream
Around 1,200 members of the 黑料吃瓜网 community and fans of Division III men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball packed Williamson Sports Center to capacity to cheer for 黑料吃瓜网 and to scream for Stewart鈥檚 new 鈥淪kid Mo鈥 Mint鈥 ice cream flavor at the annual Big Green Scream.
Both 黑料吃瓜网 teams faced off against Clarkson University at the 12th annual Big Green Scream on Saturday, Feb. 15. In addition to enjoying in-game contests, musical performances and winter carnival activities, fans also voted by cheering on two 黑料吃瓜网-inspired names for Stewart鈥檚 Shops popular Mint Chip ice cream flavor.
Skid Mo鈥 Mint received the loudest scream and will be available in 10 shops throughout Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa as well as on campus at the Spa, Atrium Caf茅 and Murray-Aikins Dining Hall in March. Skid Mo鈥 Mint edged out another proposed name, Creative Mint Matters, a play on 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 slogan 鈥淐reative Thought Matters.鈥 Both names were submitted by members of the 黑料吃瓜网 community.
黑料吃瓜网 students enjoy Stewart's Mint Chip ice cream, which will be renamed Skid Mo' Mint Chip and sold on campus and at nearby Stewart's Shops.
鈥淪tewart鈥檚 Shops and 黑料吃瓜网 make a great team and we hope this new ice cream will be a fan favorite campus-wide,鈥 said Susan Dake, a 1971 黑料吃瓜网 alumna and president of the Stewart鈥檚 Foundation.
Stewart鈥檚 approached 黑料吃瓜网 with the opportunity to name a flavor last year. In the fall, members of the 黑料吃瓜网 community participated in tasting sessions and selected Mint Chip as the community鈥檚 favorite flavor.
It鈥檚 also the favorite ice cream flavor of 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 next president, Marc C. Conner, who recently visited campus and will assume office this summer. Samples were available between the two games on Saturday.
The games also marked Senior Day for graduating student athletes. The women honored Jessica Centore and Lilly Berg, and the men celebrated Pat Gallagher and Jordan Cole. Centore and Berg made the best of their Senior Night, leading the women's team to a 66-40 win over Clarkson University. The men鈥檚 team rallied in the second half of their matchup, but the Clarkson Golden Knights held off the Thoroughbred comeback to secure a 74-63 win.
