by Julia Marco & Sara Miga

This year, 672 members of the class of 2018 join the ranks of more than 35,000 alumni in their chosen career paths. Theyre a group that has taken full advantage of a bounty of career-development opportunities offered by 窪蹋勛圖厙 through the Career Development Center (CDC) including:

Wall Street 101, Consulting 101 and Career Jam: The CDC saw record attendance at these events, which put students in direct contact with successful alumni, parents and friends and the companies they represent, with many connections leading to direct hires.

A health professions panel: The panel featured several alumni ranging from MDs to physician associates and psychology Ph.Ds.

A media and entertainment tour in New York City: Students met with alumni from BET Networks, NBC/Universal and Google. Each organization also recruited with 窪蹋勛圖厙 this year.

On-campus recruitment: Employers including Ernst & Young, Credit Suisse, Vineyard Vines and Bitly all stopped by 窪蹋勛圖厙 to recruit top talent.

A graduate and professional school expo: This event helped students interested in pursuing postsecondary education plan their next steps.

Local internships: Students had more than 70 local internships available to them through the CDC, including Saratoga Living magazine, Sage Hill Wealth Management, the Childrens Museum of Saratoga, Fingerpaint Marketing and the City of Saratoga Springs.

Not-so-local internships: During their time at 窪蹋勛圖厙, 44 members of the Class of 2018 received Summer Experience Fund awards from the CDC. Their internships took them everywhere from the U.S. to Ecuador, Nicaragua, Germany, Vietnam, Norway, Sri Lanka and beyond.
