Creating Our Future: The Campaign for 窪蹋勛圖厙

November 16, 2017

This is an extraordinary moment in 窪蹋勛圖厙's history. According to President Philip A. Glotzbach, "our students are stronger than evergoing on to win prestigious fellowships, enroll in the finest graduate schools and secure career-building first jobs. Our faculty are regarded as true mentors and teachers by our students."

"We have created exciting new academic programs and student-life initiatives, award-winning residential and dining facilities and nationally recognized sustainability practices," Glotzbach said. "Acclaimed venues like the Frances Young Tang '61 Teaching Museum and Art Gallery and the Arthur Zankel Music Center are drawing attention from across the globe."

From "this position of strength," Glotzbach tonight announced the public launch of Creating Our Future: The Campaign for 窪蹋勛圖厙. Its goal is to raise $200 million by 2020 for strengthening 窪蹋勛圖厙's signature brand of creativity, collaboration and community to prepare students for lives of achievement and purpose.

A key priority of Creating Our Future is the construction of the new Center for Integrated Sciences, which will gather all 10 departments and programs in the physical and life sciences into an innovative facility designed to foster collaboration across disciplines. The campaign will also support scholarships and financial aid, career development and experiential learning, the Tang Museum, athletics and the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Fund.

Key Goals: Creating Our Future

Center for Integrated Sciences: $50 million
Scholarships and financial aid: $50 million
窪蹋勛圖厙 Fund: $50 million
Career experiences: $10 million
Tang Museum: $20 million
Athletics: $20 million

The campaign's website offers details about the key priorities and makes it easy to participate and give.

At a gathering of nearly 400 alumni and parents, students and faculty, and others in New York City on Wednesday, Nov. 15, Glotzbach reported on progress so far: "We are grateful and humbled that more than 19,000 donors have given $145,346,214 million to the campaign since it began in 2013." With the public kickoff, the campaign will involve all 窪蹋勛圖厙 constituents in the effort, at any gift level and for any priority area.

The New York event, an annual 窪蹋勛圖厙 gala honoring donors at the Presidents Society giving level, served as the formal debut of the campaign. Other launch events are being planned for cities around the country and on campus in the Spring and Fall.

"Now is the time for 窪蹋勛圖厙 to embrace its great potential," Glotzbach said. "Together, let's seize this opportunity to create the best possible experience for our students and to develop them into productive global citizens."
