Presidential Search Update

March 5, 2019

Dear Members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Community:

Following last week's announcement by President Glotzbach about his decision to step down in June of 2020, the Board of Trustees approved the formation of a Presidential Search Committee and is preparing to launch the search for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s eighth president.

The co-chairs of the search committee, Board members Jonathan Achenbaum '77 and Maxine Isaacs '69, will be joined on the committee by six of their colleagues from the Board, four faculty members, two members of the staff, and two students. Once approved by the Board, members of the committee will be announced, and the process will formally begin. Many thanks to those who have expressed their willingness to serve on the committee.

To assist us in the search process, the Board has engaged the search firm of Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, a highly respected, national search firm with a proven track record in higher education placements. They are deeply familiar with the College, as they have recently assisted with our successful searches for several positions, including the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer, and Dean of Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

I know we can count on the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Community's participation throughout the search period. The process will be inclusive and will offer numerous opportunities for input from campus constituencies. Once the search committee work commences, the College will launch a search website where we will post relevant search information and provide a forum to gather nominations, comments, and feedback from the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø community.

President and Mrs. Glotzbach will remain fully engaged in all aspects of their work through the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, and there will be many opportunities for the community to celebrate their accomplishments.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to once again express deep appreciation to Phil and Marie Glotzbach for their exemplary service to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø over the last 15-plus years. Through their work, and collectively with all of you, the College has made huge strides forward, maintained financial stability and prestige, and gathered tremendous momentum.

As Chair of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Board of Trustees, as well as a parent of a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø alumna, I have witnessed up close the community’s ongoing dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing the highest level of quality of liberal arts education. I am very grateful and honored to join hands with you to witness the continuation of the long history of strong leadership at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

Sincerely,

W. Scott McGraw
Chair, Board of Trustees
