ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø welcomes new and returning students to campus this weekend with a flurry of activities and events. From the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Outdoor Orientation Program (SCOOP) to a Founder’s Day Picnic before classes begin, there are a variety of ways to connect with old friends and meet new ones this week.

Pre-Orientation, Thursday August 31

SCOOP is an optional orientation programallowing new students to connect before Orientation on September 3. Students will have an adventure in the Adirondacks, participating in one of several programs including hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, and more.

New Student Orientation, Sunday September 3

For the remaining members of the class of 2021, the Residential Life staff will open their doors bright and early to welcome the newest Thoroughbreds to their new home. Students and families have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities throughout Orientation. Learn more here.

Founder’s Day Picnic, Tuesday September 5

After a busy weekend, all ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students will be moved in and ready to start another exciting semester. To kick off the week, the Student Government Association (SGA) in collaboration with President Philip A. Gotzbach and Marie Glotzbach, invite the community to the annual Founder’s Day picnic on the Case Green from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The picnic recognizes founder Lucy ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Scribner and serves as a marker for the beginning of the fall semester.  All students, faculty and staff are welcome.

Athletic Events

Classes begin September 6, but that’s not all that will kick off. Although they returned to campus in mid-August for pre-season, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø fall athletes begin their regular season this week.  and are sure to be a spectacular example of athletes’ hard work.
