窪蹋勛圖厙 announces inaugural cohort of Miranda Family Fellows

The first five recipients of the Miranda Family Fellowship at 窪蹋勛圖厙 a new opportunity for students that aims to create access to education and long-term support to advance careers in theater, dance, music, and arts administration, and help increase diversity within leadership in the entertainment industry have been selected.

Summer Bulletin publication schedule   

Through Aug. 23, the Bulletin will be published biweekly and distributed to faculty and staff only. It will also be posted online. Submissions to the Faculty-Staff Achievements section will not be accepted over the summer and will be accepted again in the fall. The Bulletin will be published July 12 and 26, and Aug. 9 and 23. SWB will resume weekly publication on Aug. 30. Submit  by completing the online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. Please email swb@skidmore.edu if you have questions. 

 

Update on April 22 burglaries 

A joint effort of Campus Safety and the Saratoga Springs Police Department has led to the arrest of two individuals, who are not affiliated with 窪蹋勛圖厙, for the burglary in Jonsson Tower penthouse on the weekend of April 22. The two Washington County residents have since been released leading up to their appearance in Saratoga County Court. An investigation into other burglaries and vandalism over the same weekend continues.

 

New teletherapy provider for students 

Teletherapy services for students are now offered through the platform. While Skidmores relationship with TimelyCare will be officially terminated on July 1, the College will continue to provide students with access to a diverse pool of therapists through the new platform for up to 12 sessions per academic year. The Counseling Center remains available to students for in-person sessions. For more information, visit the Counseling Centers website. 

 

Red Cross Blood Drive

窪蹋勛圖厙 will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 12, in Williamson Sports Centers multi-purpose room. To schedule an appointment, visit and use sponsor code SKIDMORE. 

 

Facilities Services updates

Work on a new geothermal field in the area between the Community Garden and Wiecking Hall will continue through the summer. Blasting for the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center will continue intermittently for several weeks. Ladd Hall will be closed for the remainder of the summer for construction. For more information, please contact Facilities Services.

 

Summer Snack Party

All are welcome to attend a Summer Snack Party from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, on the patio outside Burgess Caf矇 and Case Center. Additional details will be shared soon.

Tank and the Bangas to perform in November

Arthur Zankel Music Center will welcome Tank and the Bangas, a funky, gospel-inspired hip-hop group from New Orleans, to its stage on Friday, Nov. 10. T. A free poetry reading by the band's founder and frontwoman, Tarriona "Tank" Ball, will take place at the Tang Teaching Museum on Thursday, Nov. 9.

 

Update on Gore Mountain employee discount passes

Gore Mountain has discontinued its corporate season pass discount program, and discounted passes for 窪蹋勛圖厙 employees and their families are no longer available. Please visit the  for more information about season passes. Note that Aug. 9 is the deadline for the lowest season pass prices for the 2023-24 season. The Orchard Project 2023 Arts Festival

Dining Services 

Dining Services is now offering a pop-up grill from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday on Case Walkway. The grill features a menu of hot dogs, burgers (both beef and plant-based), as well as grilled chicken. A combo meal includes your choice of a grill item, two sides, and a beverage. Summer hours for The Spa, Burgess, The Atrium, and Murray-Aikins Dining Hall are available on the Dining Services website
